Clonal reproduction refers to the asexual propagation of cannabis plants from vegetative cuttings or tissue culture, producing genetically identical copies of a parent plant. Unlike seed-based reproduction, cloning preserves exact phenotypic and genotypic traits across generations, making it the foundation of modern cannabis cultivar stability. Growers working with clones eliminate seed development variation and can reliably recreate flowering phenotypes, potency profiles, and growth characteristics.
