Clone-only cuts: why some strains never come in seed form

A clone-only cut is a single mother plant kept alive through cuttings, never reproduced from seed. Most of cannabis's most famous strains — Forum Cut GSC, Original Glue (GG#4), the various Wedding Cake cuts — are clone-only at heart.

Seed versions of clone-only cuts exist — usually as S1 (selfed) or BX (backcrossed). They are best understood as 'inspired by' the clone, not identical to it. A great Forum Cut S1 pheno can be nearly indistinguishable; a mediocre one is just another GSC pheno.
