Propagation reliability refers to the consistency and success rate of a cannabis strain's ability to reproduce true-to-type offspring through seed or clone. Strains with high propagation reliability produce seedlings and clones that closely match parental phenotypes, enabling stable cultivation across multiple generations. This trait is particularly valuable in breeding programs where genetic stability and predictable plant performance are essential. Conversely, strains prone to high phenotypic variation or poor germination rates are considered less reliable propagators. Breeders working with propagation-stable lines can confidently scale production and maintain quality standards. Historical landraces and established F1 hybrids are often tagged as highly reliable propagators, whereas early-generation crosses frequently show greater variability.
