Tomato Pie

Tomato Pie is an informal strain classification sometimes applied to cultivars exhibiting savory, umami-forward terpene profiles with tomato leaf or green-plant aromatic notes. This descriptor typically emerges from breeder observations of limonene, myrcene, and ocimene-dominant chemotypes that produce herbaceous, slightly vegetal character. The term reflects descriptive cannabis culture rather than formal taxonomic classification. Lineage records occasionally document this profile in hybrid crosses targeting aromatic complexity beyond fruity or floral notes.

Breeders working toward savory or culinary-inspired aromatic profiles may select parent plants showing tomato-leaf volatiles as a way to diversify terpene portfolios and differentiate cultivar sensory identity in competitive markets.
