Earthy Fresh
Earthy Fresh is an aroma profile commonly associated with cannabis cultivars expressing soil-derived and green plant volatiles. This sensory combination typically features base notes reminiscent of wet soil, petrichor, or humus alongside top notes of fresh vegetation, grass, or crushed plant matter. Lineage records frequently report this profile in cultivars with heritage in landrace or stabilized hybrid genetics, particularly those expressing terpenes like myrcene, pinene, and limonene in specific ratios. The profile is often tagged as a marker of terroir influence and microbial interaction in growing environments. Breeders working in this category frequently select parents showing these aromatic markers to maintain earthy-herbaceous character across generations.
